Hi Alan
The car will be the wife's daily driver and will unlikely to go off road.
Hours wise I go and do a few hrs most nights and weekends, ( The hours are immaterial anyway as its for my wife ). But its not just on the 90 I help on my brother in laws projects to pay for the space and help he gives me
I'm just curious to know if you have recorded your hours, which must be many. I like the your comments on the fact that it's for your wife, so hours don't matter.

She must be a fine, understanding wife and well worth looking after.

It virtually impossible to work out the Hours, Today is a perfect example I got to the land rover at 10am stripped the loom of the old chassis and started stripping the outer loom tape off and re-taping until around 12.20 when my brother in law phoned to ask for help fitting tires as he was busy 4 Cars waiting and two single wheels needing tires.
Got back to the car for about 40 min before it was time for home.
I have been doing similar every night and weekend for 6 months also in that time between us we have done a Puma, finished a Snatch prepped a jeep and Toyota for Laneing and two Disco's for sale !
Yes she's Great :)
P.S My Wife was with me today, But had to help in the Kitchen at 1.00 at my Brother in laws as someone was taken ill and had to go home

No much exciting stuff lately, Fitted new turbo cassette, fuel lines, oil cooler pipes, soldering the loom where someone had cut the back off, Bought a new battery.

First run of the Engine for 8 years !!! Hand turned to lube then turned by the starter without fuel to get oil to turbo, finally primed preheated and a quick run . He Runs Frankenstein is Alive
Now starts on the button no preheat after he cleared his Throat

No , its a pickup. The door cost £300 and they don't have holes drilled for the hinges which is NOT funny.

I was looking for one of these for mine, the price put me off, I worked out if I ever wanted to do it I would buy a full rear door and cut it down.

Cheers

The TV programme made by the Vet,m Mark Evans (A 4x4 is Born) used a pair of stainless mud and snow tracks as the rear flap on his build, you might have seen it. The result looked really good and had a double use. One big cat flap and, once removed, a nice pair of tracks to help getting out of sand and other soft surfaces.

Yeah, I saw that, I was meaning a cat flap, which is a hard top that has a lift up flap on the top side and either a normal fold down tailgate or a side opening tailgate as done above. I made a solid filler for mine as I could not find a good condition tailgate.

Cheers
