non-damage

hi
a few of us have been seeking out some non damaging lanes in kent , when we find some will give u a shout to join us if u wish

Thanks for your reply, yes I would appreciate that.

The best off-roading I ever did was in the 'eighties down in Cornwall. I went out with a few local guys in my 6cyl station wagon (amazing engine for torque at next to no revs) one summer evening & climbed up tracks that were a mixture of dirt & smooth rock to such a height that the views of the surrounding countryside were amazing. A totally awesome trip that I will probably never equal & certainly not forget

Many thanks for all the replies folks, no derision after all :D plus it's good to know that I'm not alone in having a vehicle in a condition that warrants preservation. The suggested option of running a second vehicle just for off-roading is, in my case, impractical due to upkeep costs & storage. Unfortunately it's unlikely that I will attend Landyzone2017 but I hope all who do go have a whale of a time.

where abouts in kent are u please

once suitable lanes are found will put a thread up

going to view some april may time, as that is also the time when they reopen

but don't worry u will be more than welcome to join us
I'm in Rochester

I fear this post will leave me open to a degree of derision but I'm prepared to risk it
Back in the 'eighties I enjoyed my off-roading in a variety of Series LR's that I owned & became very experienced but since switching allegiance to RangeRover classics in 2001 I've never experienced the chance to off-road these capable vehicles. My current 30 year old steed is entirely original, down to the paintwork, so dry (such as dirt or sand) free of trees or bushes, but I welcome gradients;), would be ideal terrain for a non-damaging off-road foray. If anyone knows of such an area in Essex I'd be very grateful for the information. Thanks in advance folks.
Is burres still running a pnp? That's an open quarry which is mostly non scratchy, lots of steep slopes to play with and water. The quarry was a sand quarry though so there may be damage in the form of rapid wear to brakes etc.that's where my avatar is from.

I've heard the name, I'll see if I can find out if the site is still operational. What time of year was your avatar taken, could the area be dry in summer I wonder?

There is a lot of water, it collects at the bottom of the quarry and some people play in it. Others get really stuck.

looks like a great day out

what tyres did u have on please
Went there a couple of times, first time I had road biased rears and bfg Goodrich at copies on the front. Struggled a bit but weren't too bad. Got rid of those and went with me hankook mt's they were pretty good, never really run out of grip. It's not truly clay mud there, lots of sand in the mix. Easy enough to get stuck if you try hard enough though.

Do the pay'n'play sites over there have somewhere to wash your vehicles afterwards so you're not dragging half the site on to public roads?

will be good attending a place like this

i've got a set of cooper at/3 and would be good to see how they fare

see what u mean ref some of the terrain and how easy it would be to get really stuck

they is a quarry a few miles away from me and they tried to do an off road course, but it was solid clay , so they scrapped the idea
