Trying to get HEVAC sorted

Gents the book symbol appears every now and then the blend motors are working ok but sometimes it takes a while for hot air to circulate is this a likely sensor problem?

Temperature blend motor sticking.

Diagnostic check is the best first option but if you want to do your wn checks, there is plenty of info. on Range Rovers

I have had the blensd motors out and they were working ok albeit not under load no cogs broken wondered if it was a faulty temp sensor still have the car stripped out so may take them out again and have another look

All three? As Irish says, get the faults read. Could be lots of things.

Yep all three wanted to check as the fusebox burned out guess its time to do it the modern way and get the faults read thanks guys

What you need to remember is the Valeo hevac on a P38 RR is the fussiest system on the car - even reading the codes is not always enough,you need to view live data as the car warms up from cold and as various commands are made by the driver.
Also bear in mind that the ecu itself can be more than variable in operation,in the past I've had brand new ones that dont work properly.......

Swapping over the fuse box tomorrow so will see if that makes a difference using one I repaired at the moment so will start her tomorrow and monitor what the blend motors are doing on each command thanks will report back

Fuse box replaced - no book symbol (yet ) have cycled through all the functions good as gold interestingly the fuse for one of the fans in the old box was 20 amp and when the new one arrived it was 10 amp wonder if at some stage it blew and was replaced incorrectly it wasnt by me and i have had the car for 6 yrs anyway all appears to be fine now

The blower fan relay area in the engine bay fusebox is well known for burning/corrosion.

sorry to hi jack can not find this no book symbol but blower direction only moves with some buttons eg wont do face then will but stll on feet

Better to start a new thread than resurrect one from 2010. If you are not getting air to mid level and have no book symbol indication a fault. Maybe the foam seal, dash to heater unit, has degraded and air is being lost under the dash. But it's a big job to sort that.
