Seems my 200tdi disco engine is drinking it's own water even when sat for weeks unused..

Turned her on earlier to see it spitting water out the exhaust, I'm guessing headgasket is gone between an exhaust point and block??

Started stripping it before it ****ed it down earlier and my intercooler had a fair amount of water in it also..

I've read about valve steme ect what do I need to be changing and checking when doing it? I'm going to get the head skimmed as I always do when I swap a headgasket.

Anything else I need to do? Thanks

Either that or it's gone between a coolant channel and a piston. A small amount of water gets into the combustion chamber and out the exhaust that way. On the plus side you'll have one steam-cleaned piston!

I'll take some close up pics when I get the head off Friday it it's dry. How hard to change valve stems ect? I want to change all that i may need to so i don't have to take it off again.

you will need a valve spring compressor ,seals will pull of with pliers or lever off ,use a suitable sized socket or similar to tap new seal back home

Gutted for you mate, on the positive side what a great opportunity to fit replacemet parts and prolong the life of the engine. :)

It happens bud. I wanna get all changed that needs changing while it's apart as well as it let's me get into the back of the engine bay to solder a wire that's held together with an electrical block so happy days.
. I'll look into valve replacement this week
