Where is the door sensor and how does it work?
Drivers door occasionally doesn't bring the interior light on when I open it. Then if I shut it again the re-locking activates (but not if the key is in the ignition - phew!). I've also sometimes had the engine running and opened the door and again occasionally the 'rhf door open' warning doesn't come up on the dash. So it seems that the BECM is sometimes not registering the door being opened.

It's all part of the door lock/microswitch assembly. I have the same with my n/s/f door, usually lights up a couple of seconds after door is opened.Worth a strip and clean before replacing.:)

Rave is the bible -though there are some errors- for these cars, and shows you much more than a normal manual. Not a major job to remove the whole lock mechanism and clean and check, and should be a how to on here somewhere i think.

The voice of experience speaks again, for us old farts. :D:D:D Busy weekend Tony ?

Not speacially Alan. Got £100.00 B&Q voucher off lad for my birthday so put two quid to it and got a Makita Li-ion drill. Old one died a few weeks ago. Her indoors asked me if it would be any good for things like fitted wardrobes. Sometimes we do make lashes for our own backs. :D:D:D

Don't I bloody know, finished the door's this morning. It was all the decorating that came afterwards that added to the job. She's looking at carpets now !!!!!! Three more doors being delivered in April then they are all done. Time to get the maintenance charger out and head off to the sun:D:D:D

Hello Mozz. Legend has it that you know all there is to know about keys and fobs etc.
I don't have any trouble with my fob or locking etc. but have been wondering ... Should I just try the EKA just to get used to it so that when I do need it I'll know how to do it. Or should I just leave well alone? Would the fob override any cockups I made when trying the EKA?
