fed up with dim interior lights in my truck, so ordered x2 festoon 16 led bulbs to try, wow, what a difference they make.crisp white light.

ooh and a cheapo 8 quid heated seat cover is another nice winter warmer.:clap2:

got the covers from amazon, found em cheaper than ebay, cant remember exactly.
fitted em under my seat covers to hold em in place and they take minutes to warm up on high, then flick to low.

I bought led interior light bulb too. But for some reason, even when the doors are closed it still glows half power. Very odd.

One thing the designers definately did right,

When you leave the motor at night, remove seat base (2 seconds)

Take indoors and lean on radiator.

Get up in morning, take dry and toasty warm seat base and refit to motor (2 seconds)

Result, lovely dry, warm seat for no pennies and no wiring.

I use these in both my 90 and my wife's Freelander.

Although they have pretty much been superseded now they still work fine and are amazingly bright with practically nil current draw or heat generated.
Bought from China at under £10 for ten, they were selling in the UK for nearer £10 each at the time so I more than recovered the purchase cost by selling the spare seven on.

Its one of the switches in the door (in my case the passenger) not being fully open when the door is closed (if you see what I mean ). Probably a bit of water/muck in it ... Part number PRC8548 - seems to be around £3 unless you want an LR one @ £45 PRC8548 | Interior Light Switch Contact - Land Rover Part PRC8548

Pull it out and try to clean it with WD40 ...

if that works - give a smear of petroleum jelly to help protect it ...

It is still doing it but not drawing enough power to light the bulb as the old one takes (circa) 400mA's to shine brightly and the LED/SMD version probably needs less than 1/3rd of that.

Try cleaning it like wot Dippy said ...

mmmm didnt think of that, but i also have a 240v fan heater on an extension on a timer so when i get in at half six to go to work me truck is defrosted and toasty warm, then heated seat pad kicks in as i set off, lol getting very nesh in my old age.

I fitted a heated seat kit off eBay, cost me £40 and the heat pads sits under the seat material on the bottom base and backs, then wired it all up with a 5 setting heat switch, it's awesome and easy to fit.
