is it damaged ,or just wobbling because pump bearings are worn

Not sure, but when I removed the pulley there was no play in the pump!!

Also with pulley attached there is no lateral movement

Just picked up new waterpump from the car factors hoping this will fix it

The disco now has a bad leak from the p-bracket, does anyone know whether this could have been disturbed when changing the water pump? I fitted a new gasket only a year ago!!!!

PS I never torqued the water pump bolts..

the 3 long bolts securing water pump hold the housing against the p gasket

So if im lucky i may just need to re-tighten? I copper greased the threads which may not have been a good idea. Although I tend to over tighten things normally!!

Just torqued them up all three were way under 26nm, the leak seems to have stopped will find out for sure once I've bought more coolant tomorrow. Thanks James.

Oh and I seem to have found the source of my bad oil leak since the last couple of years, can feel an air leak on one of the rivets on the oil vacuum pump cover

whip it off, drill out rivets and replace with nylock nuts and bolts.
