HI LADS ,im sorry but im back with a long standing problem , ive had this recurring problem for over 9 mths , so any help or pointers will be appreciated .
its a 200 4.6 v8 thor engine petrol/lpg
every morning when its cold the engine turns over fine but wont fire up ,,,, sometimes after trying 4/5/6/8 times it then fires up and for the rest of the day its fine , ???? this is driving me mad !!!! update right up till today
a) new battery on it all ok
b) new maf
c) new crank sensor
d) new temp sensor
e) fuel pressure test done all correct
f) fuel pump tested all working ok
g) brand new ignition switch fitted ( Friday )
h) engine ecu + diagnostic check (December)
all cables to and from fuse box checked and box tested ( all ok )
Saturday morning still the same ??????? really don't know where to go with this now
does anyone one know if theres a module or small ecu from the ignition switch to becm ????????? which could have an effect ????
I am no good with wiring diagrams and am no mechanic either .....
it has had numerous auto-logic diagnostic checks on this with no results or in fact nothing referring to an a actual live fault !!!!!!! .
so please help in any way with suggestions and thanks to everyone who has helped in the past .
cheers , Mozz Smith

no mate standard immobilisor !!!! fob batterys new .. but thanks your on the wrong track !!!!!

newish coil packs , all tested !!!!!

Have you checked the fuel pressure in the morning before you turn the ignition on? I've seen similar on a Bosch engine where the check valve in the tank was bad and the fuel drained back into the tank overnight.

An easier way to test might be to turn the key to ignition 2 wait for the fuel pump to go off, then turn it back off and then repeat 5 times or so and then finally start the engine.

Keeping well Mozz?

Not visiting the UK again for the forseable, told the kids that after 14 years, it's time they got off their buts and visited me:eek::)
White stick and Labrador, it's that bad then?

yes all tested properly !!!!! as script says its only when cold wich at moment is cold every day . it seems to me that the coolant temp isn't telling something else that its acceptable and ok to start ??? I am going through RAVE page by page to try get some ideas ?????...cheers mozz

heres a thought ,, does anybody in Lancashire that is independent know where they have t4 and also does anyone know if t4 or other will actually show the problem as a positive fault i.e. failure to start on first key on cold mornings ,????????? but if I put key in ignition turn to 2nd click and wait approx. 2/3/ minutes it fires up ?????????????? and then its fine for rest of day ??????????? still doin my head in >>> anyone want to buy it ,, ???????

Coolant temperature sensor, cheap enough to just replace if you can't get someone with diagnostics to check.

Sounds like exactly what I said in that case? By not starting it instantly the fuel pump has time to pressurize the rail.
