Rear Disc or Not

Still fixing problems here and there. Nothing to serious at the moment but I seem to fix one then find another while I am doing it.

Anyway,Just got front and rear axles off 200 TDI to refurb/ recondition, then swap them on to my 90, sometime in near future.
Mine has Classic Range Rover axles on with rear discs at the moment but the one I am going to refurb has shoes.
Would really like to keep it with discs if I can, I have read loads of posts on conversions but still have not really found the answer if it is possible to do with the axles I am using.
Will I be able to swap bits off each?? to have the discs on the rear of the refurbed ones??

Sorry if all that sounds a bit hard to understand I am still new to all this.

Don't think you can convert a drum axle to a disc axle as there are no fixing to fit the caliper's to, i am looking to do this on mine but will need to buy a disco rear axle to do this for the same reason but i am not sure if i need a disco 200 axle or if i can use a disco 300 rear axle though

I believe you can convert a Salisbury rear axle to discs.

They can be converted using several methods. Have a look on the lr4x4 forum as there are several people on there that have done it. I believe the easiest and most expensive method is to use 300tdi innards.

you can i can give you a list of bits needed , the hubs from any 300tdi axle can be used other bits would need buying new or from a disc salibury axle

this list is just std 300 tdi disco or defender

bx110095m x10 drive member bolts
ftc943 x2 hub cap
circlip and other bolts etc you can use from the drum axle

in which case ignore it the list is to convert 110 salisbury drum to disc not 90 ,just get a 300 tdi disco axle
