Here's a really good example fer ya:

200tdi oil pump driven by cam shaft on a skew gear. Removing it and refitting it means changing a single small gasket and a couple of 'o' rings.

300tdi oil pump driven by the crankshaft and the rotors for it are inside the timing cover - just getting a look at the thing means removing the fan, fan cowling, auxilliary drivebelt, and timing cover, removing the timing cover means removing the sump if you go by the book - removing the timing cover also means you're going to have to drain the coolant, as well as replace the timing cover gasket, crankshaft pulley oil seal.

1/ the wurd contuctor is one you just made up
2/ glass is crap at conducting electickery
3/ its the little bit of wire inside that is the conductor or dint they teach you that at wire school
4 common usage of the wurds electronics and electrics are two different things. electrics describes the flow of electons in a simple circuit as used in series landies. electronics is the complicated **** used in gaylanders and the like.
and i bet you still refer to a suspension damper as a shock absorber

yes mr grunt i agree totaly and uneviquffably wiff ya. my point was that even if something has a real meaning it dunt mean that in common usage its not called something completely different. the damper /shock situation is one of the more common usage of common names rather than real names.
ah mean if you goes into paddocks and ask fer a shocker yule get a damper, and the chances are that if you ask fer a damper yule get one of them steering thingies.
so even if you can find a way to describe series lectricks as electronic yule still be talkin bollocks in the real world. where as if you describe gaylander electronics as simple lectricks you'd need yer heid looked at.
