Land Rover Defender 90 110 130 Series Hybrid Trial vehicle HID Headlights and surrounds and other bits

Item #1 - £280.00 ONO a set of custom made land Rover Defender headlight units. These are made of the following components:

1. Custom fabricated headlight surrounds - made of heavy duty glass fiber, really dense, with a solid feel. Color is mid grey / Silver

2. Main Head light 35W HID projector with Halo / Angel eyes wiring option - very powerful

3. 2 x each side high beam projectors 50W

4. Cut outs for standard Indicator lights fitting

5. Custom made light unit guards

6. Electrical wiring - ballasts

7. Custom made chequer plate (optional)

The Whole Unit
I have personally designed and had these headlights made for me by a professional rally car fabricator. They fit easily with minor trims to the Defender internal headlight support structure - apprx 30 mins work if you know what you are doing with a precision metal grinder / cutter.

The lights
The lights are very powerful - even in normal drive mode. I have been running those for apprx. 2 years and drove a number of times to South Europe in winter with may hours of night driving - much better than my standard LR lights - easier on the electrics too.
Ballasts included for complete wiring set.

The lights are road legal - the vehicle went through 2 x MOTs no problem.

These units can be installed if you want to experiment with the aesthetics of your old Series, Defender, trialler or monster truck.

Item #2 £30.00 - Defender 300 TDi Air filter unit.
Good condition. Can be used as straight swap on standard vehicle or for vehicle upgrading / customisation.

Item #3 £40.00 each - LAND ROVER 110 Military Wolf Radiation Winter Insulation Front Section.
Military issue radiation hazard insulation kit for the front cabin.

Brand new unused, still in its original plastic sheet.

The picture shows the item folded in two. It does cover the entire front cabin roof as well as the back of the seats sides b pillars.

Can be used on pretty much any Land rover Defender 90 110 130, military & wolf, and with some modification on expedition vehicles, 88s, 109, and any other.Very high quality made by Trim Technology, suppliers to the MOD

I have 2 of those.

Item#4 - £180.00 ONO Land Rover Defender 90 110 130 Roof console storage

A heavy duty very well made custom land Rover Defender internal roof storage console. Can be installed on Series too with additional modifications

This console is covered in mid grey and is based on an Outback roof console professionally modified to house a set of extra 4 x 52mm gauges, also included in the sale, along with the main wiring. Looks very OEM neat / clean when in-cabin.

The 4 x gauges are: Rev Counter, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Turbo Boost

The console was also slightly modified with small cuttings to house an internal roll cage. These can be easily filled and covered in carpet. The internal surface of the main tray has an anti vibration self adhesive sheet installed - the whole installation also provided some good sound deadening from the roof - breaking the booming effect of the roof's large panels - not planned and very welcome No lights included but will house up to 2 x. Standard land rover internal lights or any square base lights with some modifications

Since installation requires shortening the sun visors I will also include the modified ones (2x sun visors) which were professionally done by TBR and will save you 1 hr work too.

Collection only on these items. Payment is cash on collection. Can deliver within a reasonable radius from Slough, Weybridge or North London, subject to prior agreement.

Please let me know via messaging service if you have a reasonable offer.

Gentlemen if any of you is seriously interested we can agree on a fair price. These lights are really high end and you would not be disappointed. Additionally. I would be happy that they would find a loving home and great use - as they were fabricated with lots of love ;) And if these are for a trialler vehicle, who knows, I can throw in a pair of Def front solid discs in great condition + calipers? ;)

our plastic recycling goes in a green bag..... not a green badge. usually picked up by the bin men on a thursday if you need help disposing of them

I have factory fit HID lights on the Impreza and they are great

Thats the important bit. when they are fitted by professionals and are done right the they are a marvellous bit of technology.

when someone thinks they can fit a set in there garage with scant regard for the rest of us that have to deal with the glare and blinding white light they emit is when i have a problem.

If you fit aftermarket HID headlights and don't fit the self levellers etc, then you don't give a fcuk about others then your a CNUT. Simple as really!

Stepping down from soap box now...... :)

Hi all - great to see the debate :) and just to clarify:

The Lights had been on my Def 110 that went through 2 x MOTs in UK.

My local specialist in Surrey had been regularly looking after my vehicle, no advisories on any MOT where the Def went with those lights on (can provide evidence), so no problems have been seen there.

Just to be absolutely clear and fair, yes these lights are not self-levelling. And of course they are not to everybody's aesthetics taste, but they are well built.

Hope this clarifies it for those who are genuinely interested - I have been a member for some time now, can guarantee not in the space of wasting people's time (or mine)

I've seen them on eBay a couple of times, I think the only way you'll sell them is 99p with no reserve and see what the market thinks they're worth

Hi, can you provide me with the full details of your MOT tester please?

I'm sure VOSA would be happy to pay them a visit and re-educate them on the law that they are (in effect) employed to ensure is maintained when it comes to vehicle standards.

It is only law to have self leveling and headlamp washers fitted to vehicles with hid's if they are fitted from manufacture there is no reason for rejection if they are aftermarket fit as they do jot need to be self leveling or have washers cor mot if they were not fitted at manufacture, thats what the mot manual says anyway
