Turbo problems - is it deid?

i'd stick an inline before the pump though, at least for a while until you are sure your lines aren't full of crap :)

Vilguy showed me the fuel heater he has fitted and it looks pretty good, easy to fit too so I might see about getting one of them on too as I'll probably be running on veg as much as possible from now on

Well changed the lift pump and still exactly the same. I've stuck a bottle of injector cleaner in tonight just in case that'll make any difference but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Im still leaning towards an air leak but I'm fecked if I know where from, I've no way of checking it unless I replace all hoses. Already done top and bottom intercooler pipes

and you checked the lil hose behind the engine to the pump? it's all good and not split?

also, take the pump housing apart and check nothing is gummed up.

i'll presume the air filter is clean.. or you've ran it with it off and the accel cable is adjusted correctly and not broken

also check exhaust is ok and your not getting backpressure

and iirc you checked the wastegate worked properly?

Just saw this. Yeah the hose going from turbo to top of pump is fine but ill see if I can change that just in case.

Air filter is new and accelerator cable is fine, no problems there.

How would I take pumping housing apart and is that relatively simple?

it's the same as the fuel pump tweak, 4 bolts/screws. but instead of turning the diaphragm, you are making sure it moves up and down alright and has no splits or crap in it.

just be careful not to move anything if you don't want to tweak. i'd even punch mark the case to the lil notch on the diaphragm so you don't lose the position.

300 is the same http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/sluggish-disco-not-any-more-146991.html ignore the bosch thing.

i'm not convinced it will be that, but it might!

check back pressure on exhaust.. undo the downpipe from the manifold :D

apart from that, all i can think of is the injector pump, dodgy injectors would probably kick out a puff of black.. or compression is gone.. maybe hg

Hm reckon ill leave the injection pump alone for now then and have a look at some other things. Injectors themselves are fine and this started before I switched to veg oil, got my dates mixed up. I'll see if the injector cleaner helps.

Would a dodgy HG cause a loss of power pretty much only on hills though? It probably is about due a change though but seems odd symptoms.

Will check the exhaust next I guess
New since before or after the problem? Maybe worth a quick trip without the filter just in case it's too restrictive.
After, only put it in the other day. It's a bog standard 300tdi filter and is a hell of a lot less restrictive than the Donaldson one I took off but its been running fine for a year or so with that so its not an air filter problem.

.

i'd also expect it to be a pig to start.. get that test done if you get the chance and rule it out.

wolf, you defender sounds ... dont take this the wrong way...

feckin awful.

Its loud as hell, sounds like there is a huge hole in the exhaust. I couldnt be arsed to read through the thread as its past cinderella time, but it dunt sound right!
