i am a avid 4x4 guy and have had a
g 230 '87 for 4 years
now with paj 2,5 td swb '92 that i got for a song and rebuilt the chassis rails and arches
now rather ok( of course not a lr !! )
saw a sad looking p38 2,5 5 cyl from late 90s in a nissan dealers yard
been there ca 2 years
170k km ca 100km mi only street use
1 owner
price will be ca 1500 eur
engine ok
trans ok
clutch ok
brakes ok
tyres 80 pct
air suspension ok
no looseness in suspension joints
no rust
window/ lights / locking ok
hvac u/s no display or control
glove compartment will not fully latch ( hangs down 2 cm )
headliner fabric detached and hanging
interior ok, just regular use wear, gear**** gaiter needs to replace
body paint ok
i do my own mechanic-ing and usually use parts form breakers
the point is to use it for mainly offroad and short onroad to get offroad
questions
1 am i being foolish / risky
2 whats the deal to get the hvac display and actuators working and for how long between failures ?
