fitting the lift kit

on top of the lift your kit will give you, your tyres can lift it higher too :)

mine was lifted 1" just by replacing the 215/65/16 with 205/80/16 :)

because the diameter of the new tyres is 2" bigger

me, being the tight git that I am, was just checking out my little mule (grand vitara) now that has nearly new x 5, 215 65 R16 AT's which when placed against the freelander are around 30mm higher ish,

so would getting 5 15" rims for vitara and 5 16" rims for the landy, and swapping the tyres over, be cheaper than buying 5 new tyres and rims for the landy,
although doing the later would give me 15" rims and tyres to sell on

I've got a set of 15x8 wellers with 265 70r15 MUDs that would fit your vitara.......;)

Don't think that is really what you are after though...

According to the internet, 215/65/16 are smaller diameter than the 195/80/15 you mentioned on the first page that you currently have... 686mm against 693mm

that's weird, having took off a wheel from the vitara to check the pads, I placed it alongside the landy and it was noticeably higher
maybe I just need to get the lift kit finished then see how it copes with our private track, as technically I should be 40mm more clearance? if all ok I'll keep as is for time being, until these tyres need replacing, and then look into 16" tyres/rims

Would it not be anyway because it had no weight on it or was it a lot more higher than that?

ok, today was sunny, so started on the front, wanted to start on the drivers side, as when I bought the car, I was told it had a TD4 front calliper on drivers side, and I may need to add a wheel spacer (supplied by seller) of course I didn't do it, so wanted to see if inside of wheel was marked, it was every so finely, so the spacers will be going on as I changed the otherside to a TD4 too, anyhow, they spacers were in the rear tool box hole, I knew it was damp in there, but hadent looked for around 4 months, well, 5" of water, it was like a mini aquarium, lol, has anyone done a simple bodge of drilling a hole in the bottom ?

anyhow, un did all the bits and bobs, noticed after splitting the track rod ball joint it'll need replacing, so Ive removed the front strutt and bolted on the riser, now to order new ball joints via evil bay (any recomendations?) then I'll refit and do the other side

I don't have a carpet in my boot, it will be put back in one day but it's taking a while to dry out. In the bottom of the fishtank at the lowest point there is a hole with a bung in it, but it's got some sealer over it. I just gently prized it open with a screwdriver and it gets rid of any water that ends up in there

195/80/15 and 215/65/16 are almost exactly the same rolling diameter so i wouldn't bother tbh

yeah Im not going to worry at the moment, the tyres that Im running a quite new so would be crazy to change them at moment, will wait till I need to replace, the freebie will be riding 40mm higher anyway so lets see how that copes, (when I get it finished)

A Landy specialist who bought one of everything I sell mailed me a pic of their demo car last night now things are moving on with it...

Pic below is with 235/70 BFG MT's combined with lift kit & modulars, looks alright I think :D
