top should be stamped on gasket ,but its not 2nd pic chamfer drivers side corner goes to rear but most obviously the metal half circles are for hotspots ,so you were right with first pic

Bah, I was sure I was right lol. Glad I asked. I just got the heat sitting on top of it at the moment as I'm still waiting on my torque wrench to come.

Looks like a nice job anyway. Nice shiny new pistons, and the bores look sweet - has it had a rebore?

Aye, it's a full rebuild. Only thing that ain't been changed is 3 of the con rods and the crankshaft. I just wish I was better at painting lol
