V8 Crank Case breather hose..

Morning all,

I've been reading about oil leaks on V8 engines (I still have a small one) and have come across people talking about blocked crank case breather hoses causing oil leaks.

I think it can cause a build up of pressure that can force oil past the front and rear oil seals or something.

Firstly have I got this right, and secondly how does that work?

And thirdly, how do I go about unblocking them? Do I have to take the rocker covers off to do it?

As I say I still have a small oil leak and I was wondering if this was causing it.

There should be an oil separator in right rocker cover or in the hose just outside, take hose off cover to check.

Was missing on my old gems and only passed MOT emissions when new one fitted.

I'll check my hoses then. TBH I think it's a long shot that it's causing a leak, but it's easier than changing the front seal I'd imagine.
