Hello there my Defender 110 SW was taken some time between 8pm and 8am from my work in Stow Maries near Chelmsford, Essex.

The scum had angle grinded their way through a chained gate and taken my Landy which was actually broke down awaiting recovery from the AA first thing this morning. So how they took it I don't know, towed it or flatbed truck.

She's only 6 months old and my wife and I have worked so hard together so that we could afford one.

If you see her she's Stornaway Grey, dual alloys and tinted windows.

Also has all of my staffs college work in there as well as a painting of some penguins.

:(

Haven't broke the news to my 8 year old son yet - he's going to be heartbroken. Here's the Landy any way.

Many thanks for any help.

Had you contacted the AA about it to arrange recovery? something seems a bit "fishy" there to me, either someone over hearing your conversation, or, dodgy AA phone agent person...?

Really sorry to hear of your loss, does your work have any CCTV if they have big chained gates?

Hope you get it back too ,if it's 6 months old from new you get a brand new vehicle if they don't manage to recover it if I'm right

Wow can't believe that this is so frequent in the UK. I hope you get her back but I don't think they would have taken a new Landy for just a joy ride.

Curious to know what would have caused it to break down at just six months old.

Good luck.

#1 stolen vehicle in the UK. And UK is stolen car capital of the EU

Damn, would never have believed either of the two. That's too bad mate, I can just imagine the gut wrenching feeling when you looked at the spot where you parked and realize your Landy is gone.

It must be sad especially for those whose pride and joy is their Landy.

I have a BMW Classic in almost brand new condition back in my home in Canada and decided to leave it there than bring it to Barbados. They drive very, very badly here and I might clobber someone for hitting it.

They have hit my X5 last year and within the last two months they have hit three of my employees. They drink and drive, text while the car is in motion and of course yak in the cell phones driving full bore.

Sorry for the guys whose Landies are stolen.

Nope

Unlucky, hope you get it back.
More worry is the fact it was 6 months old, and broken down, in need of a recovery truck?
lemon?
Gra

We're thinking along the lines of it was targeted, we don't normally leave work until gone 8pm and far too late for recovery to take to the main dealers. The bastards have either found a way to disable the Defender and fix it sharpish or they're being proper blatant and using a big flat bed orange lights flashing and loading it on that way as brazen as you like.

Either way, it has broken us, we saved so hard to buy a new car. Not just a car but the vehicle of our dreams. My wife now is of the thought of - what is the point?

Just for some scum bag to have it away like that.

I'm trying to be positive and go down the more modern route and get a different vehicle that's a bit harder to steal.

I'm not saying what vehicle but it comes from the same factory and isn't a freelander, disco, defender or vogue.

Ahem.

Oh and the cctv showed sod all sadly :(

you just need to added some extra devices. factory are easy to get by.
Was that like a really new one?

Damn:mad::mad::mad::mad: Insurance should pay out then? not to big of a loss I hope:(

Had all of our trainee nurses college notes in there - that bit we're proper bolloxed by.

Yes it is a big loss, we saved so hard for that vehicle, really hard, our dream car, yes it's not an Aston or Bristol but we fleetingly got our dream car and if we replace it like for like we would still by lying in bed with one eye open or the times we're up at work all night - which happens three or four times a month not getting on with the job in hand.

As I said (and I know it sounds dramatic) but it really has hurt us hard.

I also know I need to get a grip as it is only a lump of metal, but it was my lump of metal.

It is a emotional shock. Been there when a house got broken into 30 years ago. Stuff can be replaced but the shock of being violated never leaves.

Best wishes to you and yours
