All, have just bought my wife a September 2000 Freelander TD4 Hardback. Seems very clean with a full history, although some is with independents. Reading all of the horror stories about failed VCU's would it be sensible to renew the VCU before it becomes an issue..... E Bay has them for £275.00 which isn't too bad. The car has done approx 53,000 miles.
You can tell I am nervous..... if I am honest I have never been that keen on Freelanders
I, after several Range Rover's, run a Discovery3. That said my last car was a 2005 Range Rover Vogue and the front diff splines failed after less than a year.... got rid of it because within three months of the repair it was making noises again
I guess the Freelander can't be worse than that?
