Tamworth, staffs.
Just wanted to post this here so that myself and others can find it when needed. Its a very good write up from our friends over the pond. There is exploded diagrams and wiring diagrams also.

Thought it might be helpful.

Warn 8274 rebuild

Decent guide. Thought he made slightly hard work of putting the ball bearings back in the brake assy though.
I found it easier to either assemble the brake with the mainshaft in a vice and then install the mainshaft with the brake attached (can make it tricky to get the bronze bush and seal in if they are new unless you use a spacer as per video below), or to just balance the winch somewhere so the mainshaft is vertical.

Believe I roughly followed this video when rebuilding mine
Warn 8274 Rebuild video # 2 Re-assembly of winch - YouTube

Another thing to note when rebuilding them is to drill and pin the freespool handle is it's not already been done. Used a 3.2mm drill but and 3mm r clip on mine I think, it stops the winch popping out into freespool when under load (not ideal!) and only takes a minute.

mines got a split pin in it, but the freespool is jammed solid anyway

nice one chaps, keep adding useful links.

I think ill be doing the free spool mod and Deasy suggested drilling and tapping a hole in the bottom and the top of the casing to fill and drain the oil.
