spotted this on ebay, the seller insists its a supercharged 4.4 from 2002?

A vehicle like that you sell cheaply because it has a big bill due, since it is uninsured and about to run out of tax, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a VERY big bill. Only had it for under a year so no doubt previous owner punted it due to a big bill too.

Ask him for Photos of the engine - use some excuse like you wanna see the rocker covers for signs of leaks or to ensure the suspension turrets are rust free or something like that

i dont think they want to play anymore, boring, they asked if i was interested in buying the car, which i was if it was a supercharged 4.4 out of the factory as that would be pretty rare, they said they are only going off what the guy told them when they bought it.
i suppose i bought a 'fault free' car with full service mystery i mean history and £3k later its still needs work but i knew i was taking a gamble

They could have a pretty disappointed buyer if someone is expecting to find a supercharger under the bonnet.....

I'm sure I emailed about this last year, just browsing when it caught my eye. Big supercharged advert but when I asked the question the guy admitted it was just badging.
But ESS tuning and Dinan both produce supercharger kits for the BMW 4.4.
Something to think about Saint ?
