Dave, only have a 270mm space so a 302mm battery wouldn't fit.
I have looked on that site but couldn't find the size with a decent CCA

This is what the varta website show for your year discovery.
Varta Blue / Varta Car Batteries / Battery
It's a 680 cca so not the biggest but should be enough. Check what rave list as the spec battery for for it.
Hi Steve, that's the one I was trying to find earlier, but couldn't!
I had one for my wife's Disco - it's actually 850cca/1000mca - it worked well but if I might suggest, you put it on charge for at least 12hrs before using it.
The one I bought must have been on the shelf a while and needed a good charge. Once charged and installed it was great.

Well i finally bit the bullet and bought the new battery. Mine finally gave up and the starter could barely turn over.
Strange thing though...when i tried to start it using a booster battery it still wouldn't turn over properly so i tried to jump start it using my car battery, same thing..Bought a brand new battery yesterday put it on the car and initially very very slow to turn over again, eventually if fired up so let it run for 10 mins to hopefully put some charge back in the battery, tried again and no chance seems like a new battery has gone dead straightaway....Now i'm thinking starter Motor???? or does the new battery need a charge before use??
Help???
Steve
Any new battery from mobile phones to cars should be put on charge before use.
But an alternator will not charge the battery to it's full capacity it's not designed to.
