Corroded inner alloy wheels

Hi , found this today on inner rim of one of my alloys :eek: corrosion (white powder ) with blebing quite bad for a land rover :D rubbed down and waxoyled for now , glad its not affected the outer face as yet :eek:

Scotchbrite pads or wire wool,wet n dry primer,paint and a bit of hard work and they'll look like new!!!
 
White powder is just aluminium oxide, as long as there's not too much corrosion there's nowt to worry about and a repair as advised above will be fine.
Mine are corroding quite badly on the faces, going to get a refurb, but tempted to wait til after winter is over to save them getting chipped with all the rocksalt etc

If your going to keep your car long term and your going to referb your wheels at some point, dont use normal car paint and laquer as used in a body shop, its to brittle and will chip very quickly, then your back to square 1, get them shot blasted and then powder coated, it will last much longer and make a better job of getting rid of the corrosion.

Yeah that's fine if your not going off the black stuff ! But I found wet spray better for me if you do chip or scuff them its much cheaper and easier to repair!I would be having mine shotblasted and coated ever month after going to some of the places the old truck goes!!!
