"Best" way to spend £10k

I remember the classic being the height of style and luxury before all the pretenders to the RR throne appeared so always had a soft spot for them but having spent many hours welding them back together my P38 diesel has been and continues to be a breath of fresh air. For me the the L322 is good looking but way too expensive for a £10K investment. Definitely a late P38 for me (and 1 week with Kylie in the Maldives!!).

What's the score with the pre 06 petrol gearbox - I thought it was only the diesels that destroyed them?
Also I've seen a winter kit mentioned but vogues had front and rear heated seats and a heated steering wheel so what else is there to heat?
Even more odd I've seen a smokers kit mentioned - sounds hideous!

DK, IIRC the winter kit includes the FBH (fuel burning heater) which comes on at a pre-set time or by remote. Already in situ on the diesel but special order on the petrol.

Gearboxes tend to be better on the Petrol but all need good maintenance and oil/filter changes at some stage! My 156,000 miler 4.4 V8 Petrol LPG just got me an equivalent avge of 30MPg (21p/mile) over the last 1500 miles. NOthing outside servicing etc. spent on it to date! So they can be reliable!

Just had a quick nose around a 322 in a local car lot - its huge! Makes my LSE look positively thin. But on the inside its smaller, not a bad place to be but smaller all the same.
Not entirely sure its what I want. Back to the drawing board.

The classic rides nicer than a p38 or l322 but they're rather rolly polly.

I'm a confident driver. I had my classic on two wheels - saved by last gasp opposite lock and a spare lane. I slightly misjudged a corner. The p38 would have cornered faster without fuss. Why do you think the police uprated the springs?

I own a P38 and have mates with L322's that I've worked on and ridden in, that qualifies me to comment on both IMO
