Fitting a aftermarket subwoofer in range rover l322 (2005)

Hello everyone

I was hoping if someone can help me with a few questions I have.
Does anybody know or has anyone ever fitted a aftermarket subwoofer to a range rover vogue 2005? I've searched a few previous posts and the info I've gathered is that it's not possible to fit it unless you change the whole head unit. Is that true? I am wanting to fit the sub to the factory fitted head unit if its possible.
Also does anyone know if the head unit has a aux input at the back?
Thought I'd ask someone from the forum before I take the head unit apart as its quite a lengthy process especially if its your first time lol

Any help will be much appreciated

Why don't you just get the original subwoofer
Plug and play then

I have fitted a genuine sub to mine with an aftermarket amp and head unit
Works a treat

It has already got the original subwoofer but it doesn't kick as much as the previous one I had in another car .
Have you put a aftermarket head unit in? I heard doing that is pretty tricky because the head unit is connected to the trip computer.
Is it not possible to connect a amp and sub to the factory fitted headunit? Or even a aux cable to the headunit?

For use with existing stereo pal what you need is something called a JBL MS-8 or an Audison Bit One/10 processor which you can integrate into standard equipment and then you can add more then onwards.
It is expensive but so worth it if thats what you want to do.

my L322 is a HSE, with the 11 speaker non-DSP system.

not having the satnav screen and DSP makes changing the headunit a piece of cake.

on the HSE model, it does not rely on the stereo for the trip computer. unlike the sat nav versions do.

iv not heard of anyone fitting an aftermarket system to a vogues stereo, plenty to the HSE systems including myself.

i have fitted a 7" touchscreen media unit and installed a subwoofer. all works great through existing 11 speaker amplifier.

Seems a bit of a headache then. On previous cars I've owned it was just plug and play a lot easier but with range rovers god it's a headache lol think I'm going to just leave It standard cause I don't want to take the tv out. Also from reading your post the tv unit that has a sat nav connected which means it will be a hell of a lot more difficult or ill have to change the unit which I don't want to do. Guess ill have to pass on it lol

Don't think the earlier models do....2.0_Hippo has fitted and Aux input to his 2003 HSE, but I am sure the process can also be done for the 2005 models to

As long as you have the 6 disk changer it can be done

About the sub
I remember from my boy racer days you can get a rca convertor that connects direct to the speakers and gives a preamp output
You could connect one between your amp and sub. And use it to feed a higher powerd amp

Ive got one kicking about somewere but it aint been used for like 10years so cant remember what it sounded like
