Flat tyre problem!

Had a tube - tube fckd - got new tube - still fckd.
Maybe new wheel just to rule it out. Or new tyre.

You can get rims fairly cheaply to be honest, set of d1 rims, set of tyres would be around £350? Or look on ebay for a set of rims n tyres

Willing to bet it's rust in the rim, any loose flakes, even tiny, wear through the tube in no time.

Get the tyre off give it a really good clean up....use a screwdriver/chisel or similar to chip off anything even remotely loose. Paint all of the inside with hammerite or something...

Problem solved.....I had 3 punctures before I cottoned on :doh: No problems for the last 3 years used daily

plus the hole for tube tyres valve stem are larger that for tublees tryes valve stems.

Tis true.....it's not so easy to get tubes with the larger diameter valve stem now as most tubes are used to repair tubeless.

My local tyre shop can still order them in but doesn't stock them

That's probably what it is then they were a bit rusty on the inside. Thanks for that. Use mine daily also - so could do without the hassel. :5bcheers2:

A lot of garages don't stock tubes as they aren't common any more. It's just a case of ordering "16 inch fat valve" rather than standard valve. No issue with getting hold of them as they are a common tube.

Check the fitter hasn't pinched the tube while fitting it. As this can be surprisingly common.

Also it is possible there may be some sort of foreign object in the tread that is too short to push through when the tyre is off and only affects tyre when fully inflated and under load.

they do a sleeve to go on the narrower tube stems to fit the older fat holes, some tyre places stock em (usually the ones that do agri stuff too)

+1 on the checking the tube is fitten right, some places aint too familier with tubes thesedays.

Micheldever Tyres did the last repair. Just had a look this morning and they have fitted an adapter sleeve.

My guess is that it is probably rustiness causing the tube to fail. Will try to get the tyre off tonight and see what the situation is. (assumign I can get the bastard off that is)...

Well said that man - Decision made just going to bite the bullet and get new set of rim/tyres.

Probably 235/85/16 A/t's BFG or General grabber (as these seem to be the recommended and i don't want fat tyres) buy from 4x4Tryres.co. and i guess whatever steel rims they recomend.

Does that sound like a resonable choice - any advice before i go ahead and order
