New rear door doesn't have lock hole!

you need to drill the hole ya self.
Yeah I know. Just don't fancy my chances of it not looking like a hash. Which made me wonder if I could fit the catch without the lock?
If they dont drill out the hole when they make it, then it must be because maybe old series don't have a lock? Can I fit a catch without a lock.
I don't leave my fender anywhere and it's garaged at night so not fussed about locking it.
Those locks are **** anyway lol.

why not use series latch mechanism
Does it fit with the defender latch on the body?

shouldnt think so series is a socket and def a pin
Gotcha. Sounds like just drilling the hole is going to be least work.

Same door fits defender or series. series locks are below the latch Defender lock is built into the latch.
Sounds like a series latch requires a series body latch. I could change this but ID then be hoping it fits in the same mount holes and same position.... Can of worms, so maybe easy to just drill out the hole as best I can.

Use a Stepped drill bit, much easier to use.

Series anti burst rear lock/latch
Series latch Non locking type.
Defender rear latch.
Series latch Non locking type.

I'd drill it so you can lock it; I doubt your insurer would pay out if someone broke in through an unlockable door, unless it was a Series that never had a lock as standard.

if you've got ya old door use it as a template and either take several measurements Or cut the piece of door off where the lock sits and lay over the new door.
