Gew9000 winch

I have just got hold of a gew9000 winch which was advertised as spares or repair done some searching on forums and they say most winch problems are earth related I didn't get any power or earth cable which I now have I'm pretty sure I no where the earth cable goes but unsure on the positive cable where it connects to the winch the bloke said it went on the solenoid but there are 4 of them so any help on where the power cable goes would be appreciated so I can try it before I get it looked at thanks in advance

could quite easily have 4 solenoids, all single pole, there would be 2x normally open, and 2x normally closed. forward would opperate 2x solenoids, and reverse would opperate the other 2 solenoids. It is a bit of an antiquated way of doing it but i have seen it on winches and it does work.
I would change it for a new single unit solenoid type if it was me.

I think i would have usually googled it and not assumed he was talking rubbish.

Whereabouts are you? Maybe someone could visit and help .. or you visit them!

The attachments show a wiring diagram and schematic for 4 warn winch solenoids, different shape to yours but operate similarly, might get you started.

throw them away and put an allbright or equivalent solenoid on it far better
