Tail gate stuck

Hi, my tailgate is stuck

All the other locks operate with the remote, but not the tailgate. However, if I press the tailgate button, all the other locks open then close or close then open.

It has been fine until today. However, as a warning that I didn't heed, occasionally whilst driving along, all locks would lock then open again on their own. Occasionally. Maybe once a month.

Anyway, where do I look? I've found threads about the connector coming off the switch, but mine clearly operates, just doesn't open. How will I get access to sort it? Is there an override?

I needed something to do tonight anyway!

Right, got in. I pressed and held it in and after a bit of clicking it opened.

So I'm going to take the switch out and clean it as per:

Mine was invisible corrosion in the connector.

Mine stopped working and at the weekend I took it out and tested it with a multimeter. It all seemed to work ok and once I reassembled it it worked fine. Go figure!

Corrosion in the connectors disturbed by removal and refit

Mine was invisible corrosion in the connector.

+ 1 so have systematically gone round whole car cleaning all terminals only do a few at a time to stop me going insane amazed at how much corrosion there is
