When my p38 was nicked last year it had alarm,imobliser,drive post and padlock on the drive gate!!
They did the house first then took my keys (and the tv)nd just unlocked everything

had my 90 nicked 5 or 5 years back had tracker and stoplock on steering wheel they destroyed the steering wheel getting it off so they went down the road and nicked the steering wheel off a waterboard 110 so they could take mine

Ive had an idea for a very discreet but effective safety device, doubt it would stop them lifting it but it would stop it being driven. Not keen on posting it here incase it is any good but I'd be keen to know if it would work and how well

Nah ninjas are so last year. Well it was to use a breakaway cable type idea, there would be a cable attached to a wire or some other thing in the engine bay which needs to be connected for the vehicle to run. On the other end of the cable (it could be retractable or fixed length) is a clip. When you park up for the night the clip gets attached onto perhaps the wheel or maybe a lampost. If someone tries to knick the vehicle then when they drive it away the cable severs the wire thus stopping the engine from running. Of course it will be hidden sufficiently so they won't know what's happened

Or attach a noose at the vehicle end to yank their head off????

Has anyone come up with a steel conduit or something to protect the +ve feed from the battwry box to fuse box yet? This is what the b'stards chop thru.
Checked out screwfix who do reels of reinforced and waterresistant conduit and glands. Shortest reel is 10m. Would people agree only 1m would suffice?

Thinking of doing this mod to mine.

That looks like its normal metal spiral conduit with a bit of plastic on the outside of it. If it is then you won't get much protection as you can cut it with normal wire cutters. You just have to crush it slightly and you can open up the spirals like stretching a spring.

What about feeding the exposed part of the +ve battery cable through a piece of pipe that's bent as required. Would need a hacksaw and a good bit of time to sit and get through it, especially seeing as its in such a tight area.

Why do they cut the cable if they want to start it and drive away? Is it just to stop the alarm sounding? Seems as if an alarm with battery backup would fettle them if it was well hidden.

Either to be able to tow/lift or remove parts, most Defenders do not have battery backup fitted as standard, only last few years, before then option.

no security when my truck was stolen last night, luckily i have it back with just with lock damage and no contents stolen. i have since bought a tracker, clutch claw and a new shotgun

Shotgun won't help much - large dog much better. My dog can hear the postman when he enters the street, trouble is he's only about spaniel size and the despite a lot of noise, is the friendliest on the planet.

Looking for some security for my new Landy, reading all these threads disc lock and pedal locks seem useful, anything new on the market that anyone's spotted? A big tiger inside might just work, but it may scuff my seats a bit and leave a bit of a smell!
