decided to do a trial fit of the rangie classic rear seat for the station wagon......

first step was to measure n chop out a 10cm deep cut into the arch...

next I trimmed down the cut out section and riveted it to form a new 'side' panel.....

then I fabricated the missing metalwork from a thick galvanised shelf that I had 'liberated' some time ago..... sealed and riveted all round

fits well at the rear also....

you sit at a far more sensible height... rear passengers can look through the window instead of the alpine lights lol.........

and you still have full folding capability so load space is still fully useable....

cheers steve
me likes that nice one mate

Today I nipped into work to re-seal the front output shaft on the dropbox, was a nice and simple job. Also finally fitted the inner wheel arch trim on the fronts, just used the inner section of the standard arches, trimmed to fit due to using the wider arches.

Next job, finish painting track rods, fit HD track rods and take it to have the tracking done at a garage :D

refitted noo prop. still got **** loads of play in driveline tho :( recon Tbox me thinks

Have been told to use whitehouse transmissions in wolveryamyamptom as he does a better job of em then ashcrofts do.

engine, gear and tbox and diff oils changed (what a difference) and a good polish it could be that, than is making it run better!!! got a timing belt kit ordered

I hacked the end off an old track rod to create a slide on extender for the standard wheel brace - those nuts came undone nice'n'easy

a trailing arm is good for this too. changed my mates wheel when he got a puncture at tong, just nipped em up  he couldnt get em undone with normal breaker bar :D

Tidied the back out...ish. Took out the single folding seat I had in preparation for fitting my disco ones and started the process of carrying a lot less tools in it
