Hi folks (or wan**ers to some)

I have a MOT coming up at some point and I have found a wee hole in the boot floor about 20 cms from the upper spring mount on the drivers side between the boot floor and the side skirt. Is this a fail? Does it come under the new rules or anything.

I know the boot is not meant to be load bearing and it will get done it just means I need to shift the LPG tank.
Does this come into play:
"suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded "

Thanks

Robin

Spring mount is on the chassis....chassis is bolted to the body...boot floor is on the body...if the hole is close to the Chassis to Body mount, could be a fail as it would be within the prescribed limits (Can't remember the limits 30cm??)

If it is not close to the chassis/body mounts i.e. outriggers or Rear Cross member, you *may* get away with it!

But it depends on the mood of the tester!

It should not fail due to it's location near the sping mount, as the structural integrity of the boot floor, does not affect that of the suspension mounts. What it may fail on though, depending on it's location, is excessive corrosion within 30cm of seatbelt mounting point or body mounting point.

I would say not a fail. Unless it's near a body mount or seat belt mount. A hole in the body cannot effect the spring mountings.

go to landy mot man/lady..not somewhere who knows ****e all about them

you could see though my inner wings on the 4 door..(new ones now)..but as holes (big holes) where 12inches from chassis mount passed everytime..take that to non landie mot and cert fail!
