Hi all anyone know the pressure that's in the auto gearbox oil cooler pipes from the box itself to the cooling rad
cheers all
cheers all
Got a leak on the flexi bit and trying to get some to have it replaced . cheaper than replacing the whole pipe

I think your find it will be more expensive having one made up over buying a ready made one Especially the like's of pirtek expensive
Removing the pipes to have them done would almost certainly mean a new oil cooler. Unless he is planning to fit new rubber hoses and clip them on.

It's common for alloy and steel parts to bond though, but I didn't have this problem
I'm sure a metal geek will jump in and tell us what it's called and how static causes this?![]()
ElectrolyticElectrochemical yes I know especially oil cooler they always tell you the worst lol
Or half the story![]()
Electrolytic![]()
Yes....Aw did I make a mistake for you to jump on the band wagon![]()
Yes....
Electrolityc Corrosion is where two (or more) disimilar metals are in contact with eachother...there different electrical potential in the presence of an electrolyte (like water) creates a tiny electrical charge and this has the effect of corroding the softer metal.....this is the bubbling seen on Aluminum panels on the Classic where they bolt to the steel frames...
Electrochemical is the science of using this principle to produce voltages for use...i.e. a battery...which uses the principles of Electro-Chemical reactions (such as redox reactions) with different metals and electrolytes and pastes to generate electricity...
My Qualification and trade is in Aerospace Design Engineering, so I am a total 100 % complete geek...!!Johhny was right![]()
Nothing wrong with it you enjoy what you do that's all that mattersMy Qualification and trade is in Aerospace Design Engineering, so I am a total 100 % complete geek...!!
Really I'm must of been lucky boy then when I did my flex plate two new pipes same cooler![]()
Oi you friggin know all they were leaking !!That's because you took them off the bloody gearbox not the oil cooler. The cooler is at the other end of them, do you need a diagram? Very often removing them from cooler will gore unions. And mean a new cooler.![]()
