Only owned the dam thing 48hours and ive found a fuel leak
Seems it coming from the fuel pump! not found exactly were its coming from but the pump is wet.
Is there a common leak spot near/on the pump
Are the gaskets serviceable by a home diy'e?

If you mean the FIP, yes the top can leak, several recent threads on it and it's possible to replace the gaskets but you need to mark up carefully if you go below the first bit and there is an odd security bolt to remove.:)

alright it seams its coming from the top gasket am i safe to just whip the top off, new gasket, back on? or is it micro accruate even at this point?
also will it need repriming after or will the starter just crank the air through?

Scribe the top so it goes in exactly the same place ! It slides and can alter the revs , better to bleed via clear pipe to pump just loosen slightly and crank untill air has gone :) or you can just crack open one injector pipe

A word of advice when your air manifold is off and every thing is clean you can run your engine before and after fitting it back on it saves a lot of time and allows a better view ;)

No need to scribe top it's the next layer down that needs scribing. Top just pops off and on. :):)

Just to clear up the pump from a omega will or wont work?
Just found an entire car for sale as an mot fail £260.
Would it be easyer just to swop it? Pull of the bits i can reuse then scrap the rest?

No changing the seals is easier, simler faster and more rewarding!!:amen:

I think it's safe to say that these seals start leaking around 10+ years so if you have a scrap car with a pump that's say 8/9 years old it's a lot of work for maybe 1 or 2 years before it happens again??
