Shall I put my generator in the back, then I could put my coffee machine in as well, chocolate, chocolate cake and latte with cocoa :D :D :D

enough warm dry clothing if you need to extract yourself or assist with someone elses extraction and its ****ing it down.

a basic toolkit and the knowse to use it. (at least a jack thats capable and a 27mm socket and bar for swapping a flat tyre)

practise in a controlled situation.

I remembered that, its on the list :p I just didn't know what a basic toolkit was if you remember :D:D And the knowse to use it is a long way off still :eek:

But that was to go for a day out with you lot. You aren't going on this :eek: I will be on my own :eek::eek::eek: And its a weekend not a day :eek::eek:

If I am going can we book the Landy in to check it all out before I go.

You wont be alone... you will have everyone else on the trip with you :D
 
Imo depends on who your going with,
me landy has a steering guard, and shortly a diff guard, never needed even than that so far, more of a precaution.
Snorkel, depends on your lanes and if theres likly to be any deep water (just got mine!!)
if you snorkel, you could do with extended breathers as well.
Sliders, nice but not necessary if your careful, again depends on your routes.
Tools, I carry a spare belt (only one on mine), socket set, set of spanners, molegrips (couple of pairs) and couple of each type of screwdrivers. usually a fuel filter too.
I don't have a high lift or owt yet, but the guys I go laning with have loads of that type of stuff anyway if really nessecary
 
I'd suggest, without trying to sound too sexist, condescending or harsh, that if you don't know what tools to take it's probably best that you don't bother! A lot more harm can be done wielding the tools wrongly than simply getting someone else to do it. Feminine charm, or even just a smile, can work wonders .. ;)

Jate rings (or other proper recovery point) and a decent strop, as redhand says, are basically all you NEED .. the other stuff is desirable but mostly when you know what it's for, why you need it and how you use it to advantage. If you have a towbar then this will do for the rear recovery point, a steering guard up front also usually has recovery points built in. However, as with tools, if you're needing recovery or trying to recover someone, you're as likely to hinder or injure someone unless you know what you're doing, so keeping it really simple is the way to go. It'll be a good time to have someone show you what to do properly.

'course, you'll also have others standing around watching, taking the **** and chipping in with their suggestions too .. as well as pics ..

It'll be fun ... ;)
 
Diff guards more chance of bashing one of them than sliding into a tree , but then again I haven't seen your driving ;):rolly:

I meant on the way there and back, its the furthest I have taken the new Landy yet :D

Thanks, its the weekend trip with the folks on here in Derbyshire. I think I have all of those tools somewhere around, dont have the fuel filter though, I will add it to my list. I can imagine what a steering guard is but what does a diff guard do?? The snokel probably comes under the bling heading :eek:

Hate to admit this but the recovery stuff (and possibly tools) was assuming someone else would take pity and use them :eek: Far better use of their time than laughing at me :D Only person who has actually made me do the work myself is nrgserv :p Steering guard and the recovery stuff sounds good will do a search :D

My driving is excellent :p when pulling a trailer which is the Landys real purpose. Not so good on Lanes, I did the first two, the only time I have been, in second high box when everyone else was in low box :eek: And the tree sliders are for steps, not sliding into trees, nrgserv says I would rip steps off :D
