Defender 110 puma speedo not working! Help!

Hi there, I have recently bought a 2007 defender 110 utility with the puma 2.4L engine. Bit I've just noticed that my speedo is not working. Does anyone know why this is?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Buy a sat nav and you can see where your going and your speed

Assuming the pumas still use cables then I would start with that, fraid I have not seen one in pieces yet

Don't think they do, did they not change to leccy ones with the td5?
