Viscous Coupling Unit, acts as a centre diff lock. When it seizes, a common problem, it stresses the diffs, it's usually the front one that fails first as it also has the steering load.Just my luck only bought it a month ago ..... What's a vcu ?
If you bought it from a dealer it's their problem, sale of goods act, not of merchantable quality etc. Search for the crock of **** thread.Anybody recommend a repair shop local to Milton Keynes should I have no joy with where I bought it
the whaddon curse![]()
Rang dealer this morning, explained what had happened, he said leave car with us and we will get it sorted f.o.c. Will call u when it's done ........ Very pleasant... Lets see what happens from here![]()
That will cost him a few bob. Make absolutely sure they check the viscous coupling whilst doing the job. It is highly likely that it caused the fail if it is seized.
