Will not lock from remote

My Freelander (2000 XDI 5 door) has always had problems when locking with the remote but is now getting worse,

It will always unlock from the remote but when you try to lock with the remote it does not always lock, sometimes will lock if pressed several times but must of the time it has to be locked with the key.
Remote battery has been changed and remote has been reset
Also the switch on the dash does not lock or unlock.

Have you done a search ?

I had the same problem . Now only the the rear o/s door and the tailgate open using the fob .If I lock it with the fob the alarm sounds after about thirty minutes .

There are loads of threads and answers on how to fix the locking . I look at it as a security feature and have learned to live with it ,along with some other faults .

If I lock it using the key only the doors that unlock using the fob will lock as well as the drivers door .

all doors locks are working , the problem is when i go to lock it with the remote it does not lock , if locked with the key all doors will open with the remote

faulty remote,if it opens ok with remote then you know all motors and recievers are working,so faulty open button on remote.might be expensive to replace as think remote needs to be coded by dealer

New remote from landrover today and coded in . all now working ok
