Dear All,

I have a 2001 discovery TD5. Yesterday I started the car and moved it a bit and the engine started sounding different and the car was vibrating badly and there is no pick in the vehicle. Has any one experienced this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sanjay

Hi Nigel,
When you asked me about the injector nozzles I checked the ecu to see whether it might be a case whereby oil had leaked into the ecu which turned outto be clean. I then opened the rocker cover to check the injector loom coz I thought that the o rings there might be leaking oil. I disconnected the injector harness and took it out and decided to replace the o rings. By the way is there supposed to be oil inside the injector plugs? I want to get the o rings and then check to see whether the problem might still be persistent. Do you think replacing the o rings in the injector loom might be the cause of the problem?

Thanks

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay, the first thing I would be checking is to see if the fuel pump is working. Whilst standing outside the car, with the drivers window open, turn the ignition to position II and listen at the rear rhs wheelarch.

Hi thebiglad,
The fuel pump is working fine. Am able to hear the sound also the car is running perfectly except that it sounds like the car is badly misfiring and lacking power.
