You really have to wonder why a company like Nissan or anybody else for that matter, would spend millions developing something as stupid as drive by wire which will need servos, computers Etc Etc Etc. When a £100.00 rack and pinion does a seriously better job.
It's so they can put the steering wheel where they like, including "in the back seat" according to Masaharu Satou, a Nissan engineer.![]()
Crazy ! More to go wrong ! And when it does go wrong you have no control over the car ?!?!
Imagine, a car with the fly by wire throttle stuck open, then the fly by wire steering fails![]()
