RR CLASSIC Turbo D to tdi

Hi guys just after some info if anyone knows.

I have an 89 Classic 2.5 Turbo D which needs a lot of work.
I am planning on saving it but I want to swap the 2.5 VM engine to a TDI.

Which would be the easier swap a 200 or 300.
Would it be better to swap just the engine or complete engine/box/transfer box.

Any advice would be appriciated.

Well opinions vary on that. They are both good motors.

The question wasnt which is best but which is the easiest.

you would need to swap gear box as well ,which ever you can get donor vehicle for (disco )

Put 200 tdi in my 89 classic, need rad/ intercooler and all the pipes make new engine to chassis mounts, gearbox cross member and a load of other bits I cant remember.

Thats the kind of info that will come in handy I was looking at a complete doner Disco if I can get one cheap enough.

Just wondered what I could use from the RR as it aleady has an intercooler fitted so may just get away with new pipework..

since the chassis and running gear are the same on disco and rrc ,its only a matter of swapping the parts over which will include gear box ,chassis mounts can be cut off donor as with all other parts stick with intercooler and rad from donor
