Hi my disco 300 tdi is kicking down wen changing from 2nd to 3rd I got told it was my gear box so had it replaced and it's stil same, now I have been told its the kick down so I have adjusted it from 1 side all way to other and still made no difference, wen booting it she changes smoothly but wen driving steady it kicks back and revs right up to 3000 revs en takes a few seconds to change any ideas any1 cos it's costing me a bomb

The k/down cable should as mentioned feel loaded as you pull it out , the resistance should stay the same , untill just before end of movement it should jump and then stop HTSH

How about a restriction in the cooler or pipes, then again if the old box was failing did the guys that changed the box wash the crap out of the pipes and cooler, also did they change the converter. Might have just run the old crap into your new valve block.

id remove sump ,change filter ,check oil and sump for debris and blackening /burnt smell etc get someone to pull kick press throttle pedal and check kick down valve is going in/out smoothly and is been pushed by cam properly

I have had all new oil in wen I had box put in

just something you should allways do if your dropping sump it can show up any problem and help with diagnoses ,for instance if a clutch wasnt grabbing and holding bits or burning would show in the sump or oil ,normally autos run very clean

As you have the same problem with both auto boxes I would be looking at the things that haven't been changed first, like the converter the cooler pipes and cooler, If there is a slight blockage it may work ok on a wide throttle when the line pressure is up but not on low pressure when a restriction drops the pressure too low. Make sure the guy that changed the box cleaned all the pipes out.
We had the similar prob at work a few weeks ago on a Disco 4, a tech fitted a new box and didn't wash the pipes out and the new box failed a day latter.

Ok thanks pal I will luk into that, the main fing is I paid 1600 for it already payd 400 for new box Putin in en dunt really wana spend much I wud sell it as Spain's repairs but it's such a gud example of a gud truck apart from this issue
