Hi guys, searched before I posted as I couldn't find the answer.

I bought my first 90 bout a month ago. It's a M reg td300. Cost me nack all and it's for loads of issues. I have started by replacing the two front turrets and shocks as they had rotted. Previous owner had put the washers eitherside of the bushes wrong way round also. Anyway as I'm learning and had one side jacked while I did the first turret I noticed that the wheel didn't spin. Rotated either way but then stopped. I checked the high low selector and it was in hi no lock. Moved the stick round just to make sure and it's definetly in hi.

There is no light on the dash to indicate its locked but of course the sender could be gone.

What's worried me is that when I collected it, I drove it 20 miles home like this.

Any suggestions?

as you know front wheel should spin if one jacked up with box not in diff lock and lock if diff is locked ,hi /low and diff lock use the same lever but are completely different functions, doesnt matter were you are with hig low or neutral pushing lever to lh side should engage diff lock ,you can use a 13mm spanner on nut where linkage meets t/box looking down on it turning spanner clockwise engages diff lock anti clock wise out ,if diff lock switch to the rear of nut is weound in too far it jams dl selector, play in dl linkage and worn plastic bushes in pivots can mean lever doesnt move enough to put into dl or out, pivot eye bolt can be adjusted (wound in/out)to set linkage

Thanks James. I'll give that a go. Diff appears to be locked in all positions other than neutral.

Hi. i too have an issue with my dl in that the indicator seem's reluctant to go off/out after engaging. The lamp illuminates readily when I push to the left but I have real difficulty getting it to go off. Sometimes it glimmers and lights up as I am driving along. Sometimes it takes ages to get it to go off.

Often I need to spend ages pushing the lever right to get it to stay off.

My question is what triggers the lamp ?
Can I access the linkages beneath the cubby box ?

Any advise gratefully received.

lamp is wired to a senor what bolts into the transfer box. try reversing a litlle bit next time you take difflock off. Mines the same (well old T box was) not tried the new one yet..

the lamp will be out and then after a few hundred yards or or so it come on again ... stopping, reversing, pushing/smacking the lever to the right dropping the TBox in and out of N, the lamp goes out, sometimes it is half lit, dim (if you see what I mean).

Am I correct in assuming that something pushes the switch up (when lock is on) closing it and a spring opens the switch when the DL is off ?

Could it be that the switch is somehow sticking ?
Thanks

Got it out of diff lock. Used spanner as suggested. Not sure if it was just stuck as the selector now works in and out of diff lock while jacked up.
