dont take any notice of pikey cos hes only 4' tall:behindsofa::behindsofa:I not put spare on it yet to check, but i have seen RR, and land rovers and they can see ok

presumably its either to look cool or to mount an additionional spare so you now have 2, how about 2 on the back? or on the roof? or go military WOLF style (Wheel On Left Face)

Never seen it on a Disco, only on defenders. try your spare on the bonnet and check visability, if it seems ok but too weak put the cheqeurplate bonnet protector on 1st, not sure about legality so maybe check with the MOTers 1st?
My guess is that it will impede visability a little bit (depends how tall you are) and the only reason you see them on bonnets is to carry 2 at a time, one back and one front.
I must admit I think what looks really cool in them Dakar/Bowler jobbies is when they strap a couple of spares side by side out the back but you see the tread not the alloy. Looks cool but Need my boot space personally
