Cigar/Cigarette Lighter

Fresh from the sucess of replacing the light bulb in my year 2000 Disco2, I am now looking to replace the lighter if it is a simple job. Can anyone tell me how to do this, please???? If it means removing the dash then that is not an option and I will have to get my mechanic to do it. Only very simples for me I'm afraid! Cheers

u have to release the centre console as to be able to pull it backwords untill u can reach the back of the lighter to undo it....not a killer just a bit fiddly

Oh! That is just too risky for me to try. I had hoped that it was going to be easy like the clock bulb. But thanks for replying.

I'm at Carms east too, Brynaman if you want to bring it along, will have a look at it.

Out of curiosity...why does it need replacing? If it's not working, have you checked the fuse?

It is working (electrically) BUT a little bit of green plastic just fell out of it and now anything plugged into it seems to fall out instead of gripping. It's as if the plastic bit was some kind of 'lug' holding the plug. If used as a lighter then the plug does not spring out. It is more of an annoying fault than an essential but I don't like things that don't work properly!!

I can understand that, I like to have everything working too lol definitely a replace job then!
