I dont have EGR on mine but was just wondering is its all they claims, I know AlliSport are good at what they do and all that, but I have my doubts about there claim

Intrigued....but inlight of these new EU MOT regs, would the fitment be considered non-standard and as such a fail/advisary??

I guess if the beastie doesn't pass emissions with it fitted, it will fail.

Intrigued though...anything to stretch that mpg.

You can blank the EGR valve with a coin and it's invisible.

I blanked mine with a 5cent coin, bit cheaper than £57.

Use a steel 1p coin and fit it as a blank to the pipe which bolts to the EGR. I also put a plug inside the EGR vac hose. It does make a difference.

Some pictures here where they use a 2p but I think a 1p fits better.

None fitted or none working EGR will be an MOT fail in 2014 or just after when all the regs come in. Blanking it off is easy and does give a little more grunt when engine is cold. May also increase fuel mileage slightly. If you do blank it remove EGR valve from manifold and give it a good clean out they tend to, get caked in ****.

As a mot tester myself I can't see it being a fail item

As a tester it is hard to know every manufatured engine in the likes of fords, vauxhalls, bmw etc as far as I can see as a tester it is a connecting part of pipe work is it loose is it broken?

How can you prove it is modified unless you have a completely standard motor the same spec sat next to it

It is mentioned in the EU directive. But it also depends on how retrospective VOSA make it if it does get into test.
