As per the title, I'm torn between the two with a possible leftfield from the Kumho KL 71. in 285/75/16 They're going on a set of Craig's extreme offset 8" wheels and I'm not sure which I should go for. I'd really appreciate some suggestions from the experienced offroad types

if these are for JUST OFFROAD then go for the insa. :) if you can push the budget then get some silverstones.

Well in theory they'd be mostly offroad as I still have the original alloys for extended road use...
I'll admit a part of the decision is that I want something that looks nice and chunky.... I've had a brief look at simex and silverstone tyres and am now even further from making a decision! I realise tyres are probably the most talked about subject on here but it's useful to hear experiences... What tyres do you guys run, and why?

ok i started with insa special tracks 265/75/16 and then moved onto simex ive had 36/12.50/16 and 35/10.50/16

when the 35s got a bit low devon 4x4 were the only people who had stock and they just rip you off so i looked around for alternatives and found the silverstone extremes

i went for 35/11.50/15 and i have to say they were as good as the simex they get my vote, but if money aint an issue go for simex

im looking for 2 35/10.5/ 16 simex and like you say hard to find, but also was put off the silverstones as was told 35's only measure 33, i know very few tyres measure what is stated but a 2" difference makes them smaller than the insa's, were your silverstones small

Very true, but whats the difference in size once psi been dropped , how strong are the side walls ???

Apparently Insa Turbo ST are out of stock until Jan so they're off the list and silverstone and simex are out of my budget :( so I guess i'm now choosing between the Kumho KL71 and the BFG M/T
To my eye the Kumho look the more aggressive pattern, so I'd assume they're better at self clearing? if anyone's got direct experience of both I'd love to hear from you.

I've just found a place (at mates rates prices) that can do me a set of KL71's for £505 If I can get some ST's for near that then I'll consider them
