dont be silly - he said "Just spent a couple of hours driving and walking" and he owns a Defender - thats 10 minutes driving, 50 minutes repairing it and an hour walking around looking for a tree, piling it in the back of the defender and leaving. :D

Our family own several plots of forest. Trouble is its difficult to find the boundary markers. We collect the wood for the mother in-laws heating for the winter each year. The green lanes and dirt tracks are common ground, everyone has the right of way including 4x4's Some of the tracks are paths which have been made by tractors cleaning the forest.
The forest seems to go on for miles. I will have to check it out one day. Would be good to have another 4x4 just in case one gets stuck etc.

driven it to john richards with minutes to spare for a brake light switch, only had card so had to spend minimum of £10. bought some engine oil aswell to make up cost. card declined twice.... :/

nipped to mates to borrow some dosh. nipped back picked up switch and oil. fitted switch and oil. had a look at the dim O/S headlight, wish id never delved into the wiring. its a COMPLETE state! all sorts of loose ends that do allsorts. i plugged one wire in and the sidelight switched off and indicator switches on solid???

but all lights work as they should, i suspect i will have to strip out all of the funny wires and de mash the loom. more effort for a vehicle which was supposed to be a sorted temporary drive whilst i rebuild my proper land rover!

big thanks to pete for saving me (PCA42)
