Which tyres by manufacturer?

As the title suggests.......would love some BF Goodrich if I had the money, but looking at Kingpin or Insa's. I'm going to go for AT's as I also do quite a few road miles. Any comments or suggestions of alternatives? Cheers.

I,ve got a mate who,s just put the new General Grabber AT,s on his D2, and they are very good off road.

They,ve been designed to be as good as the older AT2,s, but are much quieter when used on the road.

If I did a lot of road miles and then wanted to do serious off road too I would have two sets of tyres. AT's are a good compromise but you will generally get less road miles than a road tyre and less grip off road than an MT. That's my believe but it could be wrong.

Gummy bear has the three tyres and yes they are nearly full tread depth. Drop him a pm.

i had insa turbo rangers on my landy although a good tyre,i found when towing trailer they didnt grip aswell when pulling away,but were great everywhere else and i big saving on new tyres,but i changed to bfg mt because i got a set at good price and suit my needs better..

I use the Yokohama Geo12.
I fitted them after trawling the net for reviews. Very rarely do you find a -ve one.

I recommend General Grabber ATs. (Not the older AT2s.) They are good value for money and perform well. They are even quieter than some 100% road tyres... I fitted them to my Freelander and was very impressed. I since sold the Freelander and bought a Disco 300 tdi with BF Goodrich All terrains on. Sure, they look the part but I think I will be replacing them with General Grabber ATs when the time comes...

Been told Insa's are good offroad, but put you all over the road on tarmac!

They must be bloody good then because I have BFG AT's on my 300 auto Disco,and I have to say they are bloody excellent off road,they reallt proved their worth on sunday getting 3 observers down into a muddy valley to observe at a trial I was running.And back out at the end when it had rained hard - then went on to recover 15 or 20 cars/vans and trailers that couldnt get out of the field.(Which was level grass 3 hours before)
Then it was back on the road with a trailer on at the legal limit in very wet and slippery conditions - all with total confidence.People tell me they last well too,I cant comment on that yet as I have never owned them long term before.But if the General tyres are any better they must be finding grip from nowhere.
