stuck hub!! please help!!!

nope just tried hitting it with a hammer, put the wheel back on and tried kicking it again from underneath and still wont budge, its shaking but not coming off :frusty:
 
1 thing I see terribly wrong is you don't have it block/or on jack stands, the damn thing could slip off your floor jack or sink into the grass and hurt you real bad.

If you have a large chain that will fit over the lug studs bolt it on and they try to jerk the hub off, put some slack in the chain and then yank it real hard and the snapping in the chain ,with force, should jar it loose.

Have used this a few times when you don't have a slide hammer. Its work but it works

good advise will try and look for a chain now. and with it being on just the floor jack is i havnt got any axle stands here, im being carful and not putting my head anywere near it lol.

really annoying me now as this is all i have to get off and i can start putting it all back together!

Why not put the half shaft the wrong way round and put the five bolts back in then gradually tighten them in turn (as opposite as you can) and the flange pushing on the stub axle may pull the hub assembly off or at least put it under a bit of pressure to enable the use of a hammer to help free off. Other option is two crowbars opposite each other behind the back of the hub assembly and heave.

very good idea will try that next, atleast ill have a bar to pull on aswell.

hi again guys

still not getting anywere with this poxy hub. cannot get it to move. ive tryed putting the half shaft on the wrong way so i can put the bolts in and pull the hub out but the heads are hitting the lip on the flange.

this is really getting to me now as its been off the road for 3days just to do a wheel bearing!!!!!!!

surly theres got to be a way to get it off???
 
i dont have a manual here so im just guessing,

does the back axle have a bolted on stub axle?
if so, can you reach the bolts with the hub in place?
if yes then take the whole lump off and get it pressed out.

if not then a three leg puller is probably the way forward as mentioned. you will likely need a bush making to fill the center where the half shaft was so the puller can bite onto it.
 
are you holding on to the hub on both sides?

what I mean is pull (at the same time) from positions, imagining a watch, 9 and 3 or 12 and 6...

and give it a good strong yank, i've always managed to get them out like that.
