The misses had a gearbox fault message today and she said it seemed down on power (But with my misses that could mean she wasn't pressing the peddle hard enough:)) Anyway I took it for a spin got the message but all else seemed fine. Stopped on my travels and when I restarted message had gone and it drove fine. Stopped again and when I tried to restart it had lost sync. Re-sync tool in the glove box soon had me on my way again with no further issues.

Is this the start of a battery on the way out or can you wise old sages think of something else looming. Been stood for a couple of hours now and showing a healthy 12.63amps on the meter. Cheers for any opinions.

Battery, 12.63 volts after 2 hours is not that healthy

Sorry Data missed this reply. I thought 12.63 after a few hours, measured without the engine running was acceptable?

Anyway to bring this to a conclusion (I hope). The lost sync was a red herring because it wouldn't start a few hours later and it hadn't lost sync. Had to have the codes read, it turned out to be the Crank sensor, changed for a new one (£46.00+vat cheaper than I thought for a change) and so far so good. Started every time and no more gearbox messages:)
